Epson printers do not actually read the ink levels in the cartridge. The printer reads the chip, subtracts the assumed usage based upon your printing session, and then rewrites the chip to a lower number. It is all a bit inaccurate. The printer never "knows" the real amount of ink in the printer.

Epson tech support wouldn't help with VPC. My other printer works fine through VPC. And I am able to print from a command line in VPC with the new printer. However, nothing within windows 2000 professional will print. The documents to print show up in the print monitor but then nothing else.
